For the longest time I heard the citizens of New Orleans are very prideful of their hometown so in return they try and make tourist feel at home along with helping guide them with choices they make. Right from the start that was evident when we were at dinner. The waitress we had gave us the choices she would order and why. Her encouragement along with other classmates allowed me to step out of the box and try a new meal that I would not have ordered otherwise. When it comes to ordering food I always make safer decisions that I know I will like versus a meal that I may not. Making that decision to branch out helped set the precedent for this trip as a whole and makes me excited to trying as much as I can. The same type of mindset applied when we hit Bourbon Street. I was initially nervous stepping in the general area just because of what I heard prior but the group I surrounded myself with was a good combination of street smart and party lovers. The first night on the town I feel indicates how the rest of your trip is going to pan out and after last night I am itching with anticipation to see what the rest has in store for us. So far New Orleans is not only a place that I would love to come back and visit but is somewh
ere I can see coming back to live.
